Real Madrid players rewrite World Cup history. Incredible
Real Madrid may not be playing at the World Cup, but its players have effectively taken over the tournament.
Details: After the high-scoring third-place match between France and England, the combined tally of the Madrid club's players reached an astonishing 22 goals—an achievement no other club's representatives have ever managed in the history of the World Cup.
The biggest contribution came from Kylian Mbappé, who found the net ten times. Jude Bellingham scored seven goals, Vinícius Júnior added four, and Arda Güler chipped in with one. Even before the bronze match, this quartet had already set a record with 19 goals; then Mbappé struck twice more and Bellingham added another.
The previous record stood at 18 goals, shared by Hungary's Honvéd at the 1954 World Cup, Bayern Munich in 2014, and PSG in 2022. Now, Real players have shattered that mark by four goals.
Reminder: Making history! Mbappé equals Gerd Müller's 56-year-old record.
