Rayan Cherki will have a lot to answer for after his World Cup debut.

Details: According to L'Équipe, a tense incident unfolded during a cooling break in the France vs England match.

Didier Deschamps instructed Cherki to move the ball more quickly, but the player responded disrespectfully and, according to reports, essentially refused to follow his coach's orders.

The head coach chose not to escalate the situation. Instead, Deschamps turned to Michael Olise to give him tactical instructions, then spoke separately to Desire Doue and Kylian Mbappé.

The French outlet delivered a scathing review of Cherki's performance, rating him just 2 out of 10. Journalists emphasized that the player ignored his coach’s guidance—even though it was his first World Cup appearance.

It's worth noting that France lost to England 4-6 in the third-place playoff. Deschamps’ side was already trailing 0-4 by halftime.

Reminder: France's national team leader is seriously furious. What happened?
