Former world number one Naomi Osaka has advanced to the second round of Wimbledon 2024.

In the opening round match, the Japanese tennis player, currently ranked 113th in the WTA rankings, defeated French representative Diane Parry (No. 53 WTA) in three sets.

In the first set, Osaka completely dominated the court, winning 6-1. However, the second set was the exact opposite, with the 21-year-old Frenchwoman winning 6-1.

The decisive set was highly entertaining. Ultimately, Osaka managed to convert three break points and won 6-4.

For Osaka, the win was her first at Wimbledon since 2018.

In the next round, Osaka will face the winner of the match between China's Wang Qiang and American Emma Navarro.
