Mandla Ncikazi would not allow Orlando Pirates to play in Nelspruit if it were his choice.

The Orlando Pirates assistant coach said Mbombela is not the kindest of environments for the Sea Robbers ahead of their Betway Premiership clash against TS Galaxy this afternoon.

Pirates need to win this game to keep the pace with table toppers and Betway Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ncikazi’s Pirates are second with 49 points, two less than Sundowns’ 51. A win will take them to the top of the standings going into the Fifa break.

“Nelspruit has always been a difficult environment for our team,” he told Orlando Pirates TV.

“But we have the responsibility to try get points from anywhere in the country.

“My personal plea on behalf of the group is the Buccaneers to unite against the team, support the team.

“We appreciate their support. Maybe, let us not allow the elements of division, elements of destruction to filter into our set-up in our institution.

“We appreciate the supporters, and these players, and the whole technical team is going to try and please our supporters as always.

“We are going to go there, fight, give our best.

“Based on the preparation, I’m confident that this team will make the supporters proud.”

The match starts at 3.30pm.
