Atletico forward Álvaro Morata has been linked with a return to Juventus Turin in recent times, and although the Colchoneros boss has expressed confidence that the 31-year-old will remain at the Wanda Metropolitano, it seems that his words were most likely a gesture of desperation.

The striker has decided to leave Madrid after all, but the direction in which he will go is somewhat sensationalised. Relevo reports that Morata is close to a move to Saudi Arabia, specifically to local Championship newcomer Al Qadisiyah.

The total amount of the deal is estimated to be in the region of €50 million, most of which is Morata's salary. The forward himself has already agreed to move to the Middle East, where his former Real Madrid opponent Nacho is already waiting for him.

Morata's departure was reportedly a planned move to free up both space and money to sign Girona forward Artem Dovbyk.
