Another historic event has taken place in the National Hockey League in recent days, this time concerning a coaching appointment.
For the first time in NHL history, a woman has been appointed as an assistant coach. The Seattle Kraken has appointed Jessica Campbell to this position. For the past two years, she has been part of Dan Bylsma's coaching staff in Coachella (Seattle's farm team). This club reached the finals twice. Recently, Bylsma was promoted to head coach of the Kraken, and now Campbell has rejoined his staff.
Additionally, on the first day of the free agency market, a historic NHL record was set. For the first time ever, contracts worth over $1 billion were signed in a single day, with a total of 160 transactions completed.
