On Friday, March 1st, a new stage of the Biathlon World Cup commenced in Oslo, Norway. The inaugural race was the women's individual event.

Claiming the top spot on the podium was the Norwegian athlete Ingrid Tandrevold. She completed the course in 44 minutes and 13.1 seconds, utilizing one extra bullet during shooting. Following closely behind, in second place, was Sweden's Elvira Eberg, finishing 28.8 seconds adrift with two misses during shooting. Rounding out the top three was another Norwegian athlete, Ida Lien, trailing Tandrevold by 32 seconds and using one additional bullet to secure the bronze medal.

Additionally, among the top six finishers were Lisa Vittozzi from Italy, Teresa Vobornikova from the Czech Republic, and Vanessa Voigt from Germany.
