Nathan Saliba Joins Anderlecht in $3 Million Move From CF Montréal

Canadian midfielder Nathan Saliba has completed a transfer from CF Montréal to Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht, the MLS club confirmed Thursday.
According to MLSSoccer.com, the 21-year-old homegrown talent moves for a reported fee of up to $3 million, plus additional incentives. Saliba will reunite with Olivier Renard, Anderlecht’s sporting director, who previously held the same position in Montréal before departing in May 2024.
Saliba, who made his first-team debut in 2020, registered two goals and one assist in 78 appearances across all competitions. His leadership on the field and consistency earned him a regular role and recognition with the Canadian national team. He’s already scored twice in five caps and is currently with the squad for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup, while also eyeing a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
“We are extremely proud of Nathan’s development,” said CF Montréal’s recruitment head Luca Saputo. “He started in our academy and now gets to fulfill his dream of playing in Europe. We thank him for everything he gave to our club.”
Saliba follows in the footsteps of other Montréal midfielders who have moved abroad in recent years, including Ismaël Koné (Watford) and Mathieu Choinière (Grasshopper Zurich).
