The Monaco Grand Prix was brought to a halt by a red flag on lap 68 of 78 after a dramatic incident involving Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
The Monegasque lost control of his car in one of the high-speed sections of the circuit and slammed into the safety barriers. The collision left both the car and the safety infrastructure significantly damaged.
The race directors acted swiftly, deploying the red flags to allow marshals time to clear the wreckage and repair the damaged barriers.
Following the red flag announcement, all drivers were instructed to return to the pit lane, where they waited for further updates from race officials regarding the potential restart.
For Leclerc, the home race came to a premature end. The Ferrari driver was unable to continue after sustaining heavy damage from his impact with the barriers.
