Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk commented on the upcoming fight with Tyson Fury. According to Usyk, he is closely watching the behavior of the British fighter and believes that Fury is using psychological tactics to gain an advantage in the fight.
Quote: "First, he insults, throws mud. If that doesn’t work, he switches to respect. It’s a defense mechanism. He’s not doing it for me, he’s doing it for himself in front of his fans because he needs support.
Is it fear? I don’t know. Maybe it's fear, a defense. It could be different things. He’s just tense right now, maybe — that’s what I see. If he holds up in the fight, it will show in the match. It's like the fifth string.
From what I see, he will throw more uppercuts, work a bit more with his lead hand, and try to overwhelm me with his size. He has the first half of the fight. I have a few strategies with my team for how he will work. We’ll see that in the ring." – said Usyk.
Reminder: Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will fight on Saturday, December 21, in Saudi Arabia. The undercard starts at 17:00 CET, while the main event between Usyk and Fury is expected to begin around midnight.
