Manchester United is set to submit an official complaint to the PGMOL refereeing body today following a controversial draw with Bournemouth.
Details: According to Ben Jacobs, the club is outraged by the referees’ decision not to award a second penalty against the opposition. The Red Devils' management has prepared evidence showing that Amad Diallo was blatantly brought down in the penalty area, with the defender making no attempt to play the ball—making the incident a clear violation.
The club has also expressed frustration with the VAR system, which they openly describe as erroneous.
Manchester United points to glaring inconsistency in decision-making: similar incidents in the same match were judged completely differently by the officials. In particular, the club is extremely dissatisfied that a comparable incident resulted in Harry Maguire being sent off, while the foul on Amad went unpunished. United's legal team believes these double standards directly affected the final outcome of the match.
Beyond the penalty controversies, Manchester United also protested the amount of stoppage time added. The club is baffled as to why the referee decided to add a full nine minutes, which created unnecessary pressure on the players in the closing stages.
Reminder: Seventh place in the Premier League could secure a Champions League spot next season.
