The Morocco national team has been hit by unexpected and extremely unpleasant logistical troubles right on the eve of the World Cup kickoff.
Details: According to Instant Foot, Genk (Belgium) and Morocco defender Zakaria El Ouahdi was unable to fly to the USA with the rest of the Atlas Lions squad, as he still hasn't received his entry visa.
While the entire team has already crossed the Atlantic, the 24-year-old defender was forced to stay behind due to bureaucratic delays from the U.S. authorities. The Moroccan Football Federation is doing everything possible to urgently resolve these frustrating administrative issues.
A separate flight for the player has already been booked for Saturday. The team management hopes that by then all visa matters will be fully settled, and El Ouahdi will be able to join his teammates in time to prepare for the crucial group stage matches.
It’s worth noting that Morocco’s World Cup group stage opponents are Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti.
Reminder: Argentina midfielder Nico Paz might miss the 2026 World Cup.
