Kaiser Chiefs midfielder does not want to enter into talks with the club over a new contract

This summer is shaping up to be a busy one for Kaizer Chiefs, as the club, following a disappointing league campaign, is poised to make decisive moves in the transfer market. But the players themselves are also making their stance known.
Details: Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Matlou has announced that he personally will not enter into negotiations to extend his contract with the Naturena-based club, leaving that decision to the club and his agent.
Quote: “Yes, my contract is coming to an end, it expires in June, but of course, I will leave it in God's hands. I grew up in the church, so I entrust everything to God and, of course, ultimately to the technical team, the entire board of directors, and the staff, to give me a chance if there is one.
What happens next will be decided by the club and my agent. I'm one of those players who doesn't communicate with agents during the season, so I have to stay focused on the team I'm playing for at the moment. Because if I start thinking about contracts and everything else, I'll lose my focus on the game,” Matlou said.
Reminder: Matlou has endured a series of injuries with the Chiefs since joining from Moroka Swallows in July 2022. The club has the option to extend Matlou's contract for another year, but the 26-year-old has played only 40 matches and provided three assists since his move to the Naturena outfit.
