Jermaine Seoposenwe announces career end date


The Banyana Banyana legend has revealed that the end of her career is just around the corner.
Details: 31-year-old Jermaine Seoposenwe, currently playing for Monterrey’s women’s team and the South African national squad, has announced she will retire after the upcoming 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The iconic striker shared her decision on her X page, where she expressed heartfelt thanks to her fans for their years of support.
On April 16, 2019, it was announced that Seoposenwe had signed her first professional contract with Lithuanian side Gintra Universitetas, joining the club for the 2019/20 UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign. Her career soared from there, later featuring for clubs such as Real Betis, SC Braga, and FC Juárez.
In 2022, Jermaine was named in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Team of the Tournament, helping South Africa clinch the title. Back in 2018, she was one of the standout players who led Banyana Banyana to the final of the same competition. Seoposenwe has netted a total of 20 goals for the national team.
