Howe ready to sell Isak, but sets his own condition

Newcastle’s star striker Alexander Isak has long been on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs, but so far the Magpies have managed to fend off their advances. However, head coach Eddie Howe also recognizes that this resistance can’t last forever, and he’s begun to contemplate a future without the Swedish forward.
Details: The Newcastle boss stated that he would be open to considering Isak’s sale, and the club could even spend more than the £63 million they paid for the Swede—but only if they can secure a suitable, or even superior, replacement.
Quote: “Historically, we have not been afraid—if the money is there—to sign a top player, like Alex. For me, that was a huge amount of money at the time—and it still is, in any world—but we felt he was exactly the player worth such an investment.
So I’d be more than happy to do it again if it’s the right decision and brings the greatest benefit to the team and its squad. But I don’t think I can give you a clear answer right now about what direction we’ll take, because we don’t yet know everything we need to know,” Howe said.
