The German national team staged a dramatic comeback victory over Ivory Coast in their second group stage match at the 2026 World Cup. This result allowed the Mannschaft to secure an early qualification for the knockout stage.

The match itself was not going well for Nagelsmann's side, as the African team led at halftime. But the tide turned with the introduction of Deniz Undav, who scored twice and delivered the win for Germany.

Remarkably, Germany had exited in the group stage at the previous two World Cups and hadn't played in the knockout rounds since their triumphant 2014 campaign.
