A controversial incident took place during a Serie B match between Juve Stabia and Cesena, reports Daily Mail. Romano Floriani Mussolini, great-grandson of Benito Mussolini, scored his debut career goal, which fans celebrated in a highly provocative manner. Supporters used the Roman salute, famously associated with Mussolini and fascism, to mark the moment.

After scoring, the player gestured for the crowd to quiet down by pressing a finger to his lips, but fans continued chanting his name while raising their arms in the fascist salute.

Romano Floriani, a 21-year-old right-back, is currently on loan at Juve Stabia from Lazio. Initially trained in Roma's academy, he joined Lazio in 2016.

Despite being part of Lazio's roster, he has yet to break into their first team, leading to his loan spell in Serie B for development. So far this season, Floriani has played 18 matches for Juve Stabia, with the recent goal marking his first professional score.

Juve Stabia currently sit fourth in the Serie B standings, trailing leaders Sassuolo by 15 points.
