The French tactician had previously managed the Red Devils a few years ago.

Claude Le Roy is a well-known figure in African football. And he is set to return to lead the coaching staff of an African national team. Having been out of a job for five years, the 78-year-old coach is set to take the reins of the Congo Red Devils.

Claude Le Roy is expected to sign on officially in the very near future. He will lead the Republic of Congo national team during the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The Frenchman will be assisted by the Senegalese Omar Daf.

With this appointment to the Red Devils, Claude Le Roy will be embarking on his ninth spell in charge of an African national team. He previously managed Cameroon (1985–1988 and 1998), Senegal (1988–1992), Ghana (2006–2008), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (2004–2006 and 2011–2013), the Republic of the Congo (2013–2015) and Togo (2016–2021).
