Cabo Verde matches Senegal’s World Cup record
Two matches without defeat
The Blue Sharks have not lost any of their first two matches at the World Cup currently being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Cabo Verde are causing a sensation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In their first-ever appearance, the Blue Sharks have had a flawless run so far. They secured a 0–0 draw against Spain in their opening Group H match before drawing 2–2 with Uruguay on Sunday 21 June.
This is a remarkable achievement for an African side, particularly as it is their first appearance in the tournament. Indeed, Cabo Verde has become the first African nation to remain unbeaten in its first two World Cup matches since Senegal in 2002. The Lions of Teranga had recorded one win and one draw.
