Club Sport Herediano has brought back a familiar face: Brian Rubio. The 28-year-old Mexican striker returns for a second spell with the club after helping them win the Apertura 2019 title, where he formed a dynamic duo with Francisco Rodríguez—also back for another stint with the team.
Rubio is known for his pace, movement, and finishing ability. Now under coach Pablo Salazar, he will battle for minutes in a competitive forward line that includes Marcel Hernández, Jurguens Montenegro, and Rodríguez.
The striker arrives with plenty of experience from Mexico, having played for Toluca, Juárez, Mazatlán, León, and most recently Querétaro, though with limited appearances in his final stretch in Liga MX.
Rubio joins a wave of reinforcements aimed at securing a third consecutive league title for Herediano. Other new signings include Walter Cortés, Fernán Faerron, Joshua Navarro, Bairon Murcia, Arturo Campos, Jurguens Montenegro, and Francisco Rodríguez—proof that the club is all-in on another championship run.
