The career of Benfica academy graduate João Félix in La Liga appears to be nearing its end.

According to Diario Sport, Félix's home club has already begun negotiations with Atlético Madrid regarding the return of the 24-year-old Portuguese forward. Benfica is offering €15 million for 50% of the player's rights, while Atlético is demanding €25 million, with both clubs continuing talks to reach an agreement on the price.

Félix himself would prefer a return to Barcelona, where he spent last season on loan, but a return to Benfica is also a favorable option for him.

In the summer of 2019, Benfica sold Félix to Atlético for €127 million, but the forward did not live up to expectations. In 131 matches for Atlético, he scored 34 goals and provided 18 assists.

Last season, Félix scored 7 goals and made 3 assists in 30 matches for Barcelona in La Liga.
