The 8th-ranked player in the world, Zheng Qinwen, unexpectedly exited Wimbledon at the tournament's outset.

In the first-round match, the Chinese player lost in three sets to the 23-year-old from New Zealand, Lulu Radovcic, who is ranked 123rd in the world.

The first set was a tough battle for Zheng Qinwen, but she managed to win it 6-4. However, her game faltered in the second set as she allowed her opponent to convert two break points, losing 2-6.

The deciding set remained tense until the end, but in the 9th game, Zheng Qinwen lost her serve, and thereafter, Radovcic sealed the victory with a score of 6-4.

Radovcic achieved her first career win over a top-10 player in the world rankings.

Recall that Zheng Qinwen reached the final of this year's Australian Open, where she lost to Aryna Sabalenka.

In the second round, Radovcic will face the winner of the match between Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck and Ukraine's Yuliia Starodubtseva.
