Atlético Dallas to Make Historic Cotton Bowl Its Home Starting in 2027

Atlético Dallas has officially confirmed that the club will play its home matches at the iconic Cotton Bowl Stadium beginning with its inaugural 2027 season in the USL Championship, according to an official announcement from the team on Wednesday. The Dallas City Council and the Parks and Recreation Board approved a three-year license agreement, with two optional one-year extensions, making it potentially a seven-year deal.
The decision to settle at the historic venue in Fair Park is both symbolic and strategic. “Bringing professional men’s soccer to the heart of Dallas means making the game more accessible to everyone,” said Luther Ott, the club’s Chief Strategy Officer. The Cotton Bowl, which hosted matches during the 1994 FIFA World Cup, will now become the centerpiece of a new era for local soccer.
In addition, the club has secured a lease for the MoneyGram Soccer Complex, with Pioneer Sports & Entertainment handling operations. Meanwhile, the city of Garland is set to vote on June 17 on a $70 million proposal that includes a training center and public soccer complex. More than just building a team, Atlético Dallas is setting out to embed itself in the cultural and sporting fabric of North Texas.
