Barcelona's bid to clinch a third consecutive UEFA Women's Champions League title came to an abrupt end as Arsenal pulled off a stunning victory. The women's team from London has achieved this historic feat for the first time in their history.
Heading into the match, the Catalan side were clear favorites, but the contest was decided by a single goal from Stina Blackstenius. The Swedish striker was brought on in the 67th minute and, just seven minutes later, delivered an unforgettable winner to secure a landmark triumph for her club.
To recap, Barcelona had won back-to-back Women's Champions League titles and now have three trophies overall. Only Eintracht Frankfurt (4) and the French giants Lyon (8) have more.
Additionally, Arsenal's women's side finished as runners-up in the English Super League, right behind Chelsea, who claimed their sixth consecutive English title.
