This season, Liverpool is celebrating the championship, but last time that didn’t stop Manchester City players from claiming the Premier League’s top honors. Now, it’s a representative of the Reds who has taken home the award.
Details: Liverpool’s forward Mohamed Salah has been named the 2024/2025 Premier League Player of the Season. The Egyptian secured the award following a vote that included both fans and experts. Salah not only ended Manchester City players’ five-year dominance, but also etched his name into the league’s record books.
Reminder: This is Salah’s second time winning the award. He was first named Player of the Season after the 2017/18 campaign. The Liverpool forward is now the fifth player in Premier League history—and the first from Liverpool—to win the Player of the Season accolade more than once.
The list also includes two Manchester United stars, Cristiano Ronaldo (2006/07 and 2007/08) and Nemanja Vidić (2008/09, 2010/11), as well as Arsenal and Manchester City representatives Thierry Henry (2003/04 and 2005/06) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019/20 and 2021/22), respectively.
