Al Ahly has officially addressed recent rumors about the health of Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali. He collapsed after the team’s flight back from Abidjan, where they won 3-1 against Stade Abidjan in the CAF Champions League. Early reports said Abou Ali might need a heart monitor, but the club’s medical team has denied this.

Wessam's health is steady, according to Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, who leads Al Ahly's medical staff. He clarified that after evaluating the player's condition, the medical staff decided to give him more rest, which is why the player missed training. Additionally, Dr. Gaballah affirmed that there is no truth to the reports that Abou Ali need a cardiac monitor in order to perform.

Following more evaluations, the club's medical staff will make a final decision about his possible participation in Wednesday's Egyptian Premier League encounter against El Gouna. Dr. Gaballah gave his word that Wissam's condition had nothing to do with any cardiac issues he had in 2021. He blamed dehydration, heat, and exhaustion from the rigorous match circumstances for the current fainting event.

With 18 goals in the previous season, Abu Ali, who joined Al Ahly in January from Swedish side Sirius, led the Egyptian Premier League in scoring.
