Al Ahly hasn’t managed to reach the play-off stage of the FIFA Club World Cup, though club bosses are looking to strengthen the squad—even from European football.
Details: As per goal.pl, Jose Riveiro is interested in the services of Palestinian striker Assad Al-Hamlawi, who represents the Polish team Śląsk Wrocław. The side has been relegated from the local Ekstraklasa, and the forward may not want to spend time in the second division.
Al-Hamlawi could be a successor to his partner in the Palestinian national team, Wessam Abou Ali, who may leave Al Ahly this summer. The Egyptian side is expecting a sum of 10 million dollars for him.
Śląsk’s forward could make his move to the Middle East for approximately one million euros, which is not a hefty sum for the Egyptian giants. Al-Hamlawi is also being tracked by Polish vice-champions Raków Częstochowa.
Reminder: Riveiro’s future at Al Ahly is in jeopardy, as the club’s bosses are planning to hold a meeting with their head coach after the frustrating performance in the Club World Cup.
