Celtic are currently producing disappointing results, and the club’s hierarchy are once again considering a change on the bench — including the possible return of a former manager.
Details: According to indykaila News, the Celtic board have reached out to Australian coach Ange Postecoglou to assess whether he would be open to returning and taking charge of the team once again. Leeds United are also said to be monitoring his candidacy.
Ange Postecoglou was appointed head coach of Scottish giants Celtic on June 10, 2021, and remained in the role until the summer of 2023. During his tenure, Celtic won the Scottish Premiership twice, lifted the Scottish League Cup twice, and claimed one Scottish Cup.
Earlier this season, Celtic dismissed Brendan Rodgers, then appointed an interim manager before Wilfried Nancy received official permission from his current club, Columbus Crew, to move to Scotland and take over at Celtic.
However, Nancy has since suffered four consecutive defeats, and talks of another dismissal have resurfaced. Celtic lost the Scottish League Cup final and currently trail the league leaders by six points.
Reminder: Scotland national team captain and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson could make a sensational return to Celtic as early as January.
