Mexican football has plunged into chaos just weeks before the start of their home World Cup.
Details: The Mexican national team has issued an official statement: any player who fails to arrive at the training camp by 8:00 PM today will be officially excluded from the squad for the 2026 World Cup. This tough ultimatum is a direct response to Guadalajara's attempts to sabotage the national team's preparations.
The conflict erupted over Chivas' refusal to release their key players for the national squad, as reporting to camp would mean missing crucial domestic league matches. Tensions escalated further when it emerged that two Toluca players were granted an exception, allowing them to join the national team at a later date.
Chivas management, outraged by what they called “double standards,” ordered their players to ignore the call-up, sparking a hardline response from the federation.
It's worth noting that Mexico will face South Africa, South Korea, and Czechia in their World Cup group.
Reminder: Neymar was left out of Brazil's World Cup squad.
