2027 AFCON Qualifiers: CAF appoints officials for Cameroon v Comoros match

The Indomitable Lions will host the Comoros on 24 September at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium on the opening day of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Confederation of African Football has appointed an all-Nigerian refereeing team to officiate the match. Abdulsalam Abiola Kasim has been appointed as the referee.

He will be assisted by Muhammad Yakubu Mahamud as first assistant referee and Ahmad Tijjani Mustapha as second assistant referee. The fourth official will also be Nigerian: Abubakar Nurudeen. The four officials will thus be responsible for overseeing this first outing for both teams in the qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

For Cameroon, this first home match in the qualifying campaign is crucial. The Indomitable Lions will be looking to get their campaign off to a flying start in front of their home crowd in Garoua. The Cameroon v Comoros match is scheduled for 24 September, with kick-off set for 7 pm GMT at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium.
