Cameroon beat the Comoros in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

The Indomitable Lions delivered a convincing victory in front of their home crowd in Garoua.

David Pagou’s side kicked off their qualifying campaign with a win on Thursday 24 September. The Indomitable Lions dominated the Coelacanths at the Roumdé-Adjia Stadium.

David Nyengue set the tone by opening the scoring in the 38th minute to put Cameroon 1-0 up. The two sides went into the break with the score still at 1-0.

But the match took another turn after the break. Bryan Mbeumo doubled the Indomitable Lions’ lead in the second half. The Manchester United striker scored Cameroon’s second goal in the 47th minute.

However, the Comoros reduced the deficit shortly afterwards. Omari found the back of the net in the 50th minute, reigniting the Coelacanths’ hopes: 2–1.

Nevertheless, the Indomitable Lions were not done yet. Danny Namaso scored Cameroon’s third goal in the 80th minute, completely dampening the Comoros’ hopes of an equaliser.

Cameroon ran out 3–1 winners at the final whistle, getting their qualifying campaign off to the best possible start.
