Monaco vs Paris Saint-Germain prediction, head-to-head and probable line-ups - 29.11.2025
One of the marquee fixtures of Ligue 1's 14th round will take place on Saturday at the Stade Louis II in Monaco, where the local side will host the reigning French champions, Paris Saint-Germain. I'm backing goals in this one, considering the current form of both teams.
Match preview
Under the guidance of Sebastien Pocognoli, Monaco have suffered a sharp downturn, losing three consecutive Ligue 1 matches and conceding eight goals in their last two outings. A draw with Pafos in the Champions League only added to the anxiety, as the defense once again faltered at a crucial moment, conceding an own goal late on.
With 25 goals conceded, Monaco have the worst defense among the top half of the table, and Denis Zakaria's suspension only makes matters worse. Offensively, Monaco continue to create chances, having scored 25 goals, but their defensive frailty makes consistency elusive.
Luis Enrique's PSG are in fine form, claiming three straight league wins and dispatching Tottenham 5-3 in the Champions League. That triumph over the Londoners, highlighted by a Vitinha hat-trick, showcased Paris' attacking firepower.
Despite the tight race at the top of Ligue 1, PSG look the most stable side, collecting 16 points from a possible 18 in their last six league games. Even with several defenders sidelined, the visitors have enough squad depth to overcome this Monaco side without much trouble.
Probable line-ups
- Monaco: Hradecky, Vanderson, Teze, Kehrer, Henrique, Camara, Koulibaly, Akliouche, Golovin, Minamino, Balogun
- Paris Saint-Germain: Chevalier, Zaïre-Emery, Zabarnyi, Pacho, Hernandez, Ruiz, Vitinha, Lee, Kvaratskhelia, Dembélé, Barcola
Match facts and head-to-head
- Monaco have lost their last three Ligue 1 matches by an aggregate score of 4-12.
- PSG have won their last three meetings with Monaco by a combined score of 9-3.
- There have been 50 goals scored in Monaco's 13 league matches — an average of nearly four per game.
Prediction
With a defense that concedes at least four goals every other match, Monaco are unlikely to contain PSG's attacking unit. The Parisians are in excellent form and, despite some rotation, look much more cohesive across the pitch.
