Wolverhampton continues to rewrite its own negative history books. On December 20, the team suffered yet another disastrous match, losing 0-2 at home to Brentford.
This result means Wolves have now lost 10 consecutive Premier League matches for the first time in their history. Even more, their winless streak in the Premier League has now stretched to 21 games—an all-time club worst at the top tier of English football. The "Wolves" have also suffered 11 straight defeats across all competitions.
After 17 matches, Wolverhampton sit rock bottom of the league table with only two points to their name. The team has also scored the fewest and conceded the most goals in the division.
To add to the misery, Wolves have now climbed to fourth place among the longest losing streaks in Premier League history. In the 2015/16 season, Aston Villa lost 11 in a row, while Norwich reached a 16-game losing streak by September 2021. The all-time anti-record belongs to Sunderland, who lost a staggering 20 consecutive Premier League matches back in 2005.
