The Cameroonian striker was injured during the Indomitable Lionesses’ victory over Ghana and was forced to come off before the end of the match at the Moulay Rachid Stadium.

Cameroon’s women’s national team secured a hard-fought victory against Ghana on Sunday evening during the second matchday of Group D at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations currently taking place in Morocco. However, this success was overshadowed by the injury to Marie Gisele Ngah Manga, who scored the Indomitable Lionesses’ only goal against the Black Queens.

The Cameroonian striker sustained an ankle injury during the match and was substituted with twenty minutes remaining. Marie Gisele Ngah Manga collapsed in the 70th minute, clutching her ankle following a challenge.

Whilst Cameroon have qualified for the knockout stages of the tournament, concern is mounting over Marie Gisele Ngah Manga. Although the extent and nature of the injury are not yet known, the Cameroonians fear losing their top scorer as the competition enters its decisive phase.

Marie Gisele Ngah Manga has scored three goals in two matches at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
