During an MLB regular-season game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Minnesota Twins, a horrifying incident occurred involving a spectator.
Baseball player Trevor Larnach hit a home run in the second inning. The ball, traveling at 112.5 mph, sailed over the wall and struck a fan. The spectator attempted to catch the ball but misjudged its trajectory, resulting in it hitting him in the head. As a result, the fan lost consciousness.
Other spectators called for medical assistance to address the situation after such a knockout. Fortunately, the fan regained consciousness and did not suffer serious injuries.
After the game, Trevor Larnach mentioned that he spoke with the injured fan and gifted him some memorabilia as a parting gesture.
"Fortunately, he is alright. But it was terrifying, man. I’ve never seen anything like that. I’m glad I was able to talk to him," said the baseball player.
It’s also worth noting that this season, an MLB game was delayed due to an insect infestation.
