Unexpected. Former Liverpool and Bayern star decided to end his playing career

Former Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Spain player Thiago Alcantara has decided to retire from playing football, as reported by reputable football insider Fabrizio Romano.
The Spaniard is expected to continue working in football in a different capacity.
Earlier, media reports suggested that Alcantara might join Hans-Dieter Flick's coaching staff at Barcelona.
The 33-year-old midfielder's last club was Liverpool, which he left this summer. Last season, he played only one match for the Reds due to persistent injuries.
During his time with Liverpool, Thiago made 98 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists. He won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with the Reds.
Throughout his career, Alcantara also won the Champions League twice, as well as league titles in Germany and Spain.
