Two Millonarios Players Seek Exit After Losing Ground Under New Coach

Changes under new head coach David González are beginning to reshape Millonarios’ squad. According to FutbolRed, right-back Delvin Alfonzo and versatile forward Jader Valencia have both expressed their desire to leave the club ahead of the next Liga BetPlay semester.
Alfonzo, once a top signing under former coach Alberto Gamero and a Venezuelan international, has slipped down the pecking order behind Sander Navarro and newcomer Helibelton Palacios. Valencia, a flexible option under the previous regime, has also lost favor despite recent injuries to key forwards like Falcao and Leonardo Castro.
Although both players struggled with injuries, their limited playing time upon recovery reflects González’s preference for a younger, high-intensity style.
Journalist Alexis Rodríguez reports that both players have decided to move on. Alfonzo, under contract until 2026, may face challenges finding a new club due to positional depth elsewhere. Valencia’s deal expires in June, and at age 25 with multiple domestic titles, he should draw strong interest in the transfer market.
