Turki Al Sheikh, head of the Saudi General Authority for Entertainment, responded to concerns in Great Britain that major boxing matches would increasingly be held in Saudi Arabia, potentially harming British boxing.

"There are certain points I agree with and can understand.

Of course, you want major fights in your country, and I understand that. But boxing has many problems, and we want you, all the people and fans, to understand what we are doing. That’s why we invite you to the event.

We do not want to replace London or Las Vegas, but we want to put our city on the map, and that is our right. I want you to support us. It concerns me when people talk about money laundering in sports and question why events are held in Riyadh.

Why not hold them in Riyadh? It is our right. We organize them with reasonable ticket prices and pay-per-view," said Al Sheikh.

Let us remind you that on June 1, Saudi Arabia will host the boxing event "Queensberry vs. Matchroom 5 on 5." The rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will also take place in Riyadh.
