Lydia Ko was overwhelmed with emotions when she claimed the gold medal and completed her Olympic set. She won silver in Rio, bronze in Tokyo, and now, at the age of 27, she has reached the top of the podium in Paris. Since golf was reintroduced to the Olympic Games in 2016, only three players have managed to surpass Ko.

Just minutes after her triumph at Le Golf National, it was announced that the New Zealand representative would become the youngest member of the LPGA Hall of Fame.

On the fourth day of the competition, it seemed that her victory would come easily. Ko finished the 11th hole with a five-stroke lead. However, the tension escalated when she missed twice on the 13th hole, while her main competitor, Esther Henseleit, finished strong. Ko stood at the 18th hole with no room for error, but she confirmed her Olympic consistency by making a birdie and winning by two strokes.

"Of course, I wanted to complete the set of medals, but it's much easier said than done. I wanted to focus on my golf and nothing else. That's why I deleted my Instagram—I didn't want to be distracted by what others were saying and just wanted to enjoy this opportunity because the experience was incredible," Lydia Ko said after her victory.
