Lamine Yamal finally had a quiet night by his own extraordinary standards.

Details: The 19-year-old winger started Spain's UEFA Nations League clash against Croatia in Split, but this time he was unable to add another goal or assist to his spectacular numbers. Yamal was eventually taken off, bringing one of the most impressive individual streaks in world football to an end.

Before the match in Croatia, Yamal had registered at least one direct goal contribution in nine consecutive appearances for Barcelona and the Spain national team. During that remarkable run, the youngster repeatedly produced goals and assists both at club level and during the current international break.

The winger still had dangerous moments in Split, including an effort into the side netting and a threatening cross after the break, but he could not get his name on the scoresheet or provide the final pass. Spain nevertheless completed a comeback and defeated Croatia 2-1, with substitute Mikel Merino scoring both goals for La Roja.

It is worth noting that Yamal's tally for the 2026/27 season across Barcelona and Spain remains an outstanding 12 goals and seven assists. His nine-match run may be over, but the numbers underline just how productive the 19-year-old has been since the start of the campaign.

Reminder: Bring on the Ballon d'Or! Yamal scores for Spain in third straight game. VIDEO
