The German national team midfielder is one step away from a return to the Bundesliga

Germany midfielder Pascal Groß, 33, has been a Brighton player for seven years now, having moved there from Ingolstadt. But, the midfielder may soon return to his home league.

He himself is interested in a move to a Bundesliga club, and according to Florian Plettenberg, two big-name clubs are interested in the player: Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund. The Bumblebees see themselves as the frontrunners in the race for Groß, partly due to good relations with the player's agents and the pace of negotiations.

The latter are still ongoing, and it is too early to talk about any specifics. Dortmund, on the other hand, want to utilise the 33-year-old's experience. But, hopes for a successful transfer are also being pinned down in Frankfurt.

Brighton are also counting on Groß, with new head coach Fabian Hürzeler intending to build a team around him.
