In the near future, a basketball team from Dubai may enter European basketball. According to press reports, they might even become a participant in the EuroLeague.
However, for this Dubai-based club to join the EuroLeague, they need to negotiate with one of the European national leagues regarding their participation.
As reported by Meridian Sport, the recent meeting of the Serbian Basketball League discussed the possibility of admitting a team from the UAE. The head coach of the Serbian national team, Svetislav Pešić, is a strong supporter of this idea.
It is reported that the new participant, if the decision is made in their favor, will fully cover all expenses.
The only club that has not expressed a position on this matter is Partizan.
