After twelve years with Borussia Dortmund, Marco Reus was compelled to change teams. He moved from Germany to the United States, where he joined Los Angeles Galaxy. The transfer was completed just over a week ago, and today he made his debut for his new club.
Reus came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute of the match against Atlanta United and immediately demonstrated his class. Just fourteen minutes later, he delivered an exquisite pass to former Barcelona player Riqui Puig, who capitalized on it. Eight minutes after that, Reus received the ball and took a shot himself. Although the goalkeeper parried his initial attempt, no one could prevent the German from scoring on the rebound.
Los Angeles Galaxy currently leads the Western Conference with a five-point advantage over LAFC, though the latter has three games in hand.
It’s worth noting that Reus' contract with Los Angeles Galaxy runs until the end of 2026. He joined as a free agent, having played a total of 429 matches for Borussia Dortmund, in which he scored 170 goals.
Additionally, it’s notable that today, Inter Miami, without Messi but with a brace from Suárez, defeated last season’s champions by the same scoreline.
