Thalente Mbatha: Bafana Bafana have the quality to overcome Zimbabwe on Monday in order to make it to the knockout stages of the Africa Cup of Nations
Thalente Mbatha is convinced Bafana Bafana have enough quality to overcome Zimbabwe on Monday to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations knockout round.
The Orlando Pirates midfielder said the national side is under no pressure as the have three points compared to Zimbabwe’s one point.
A win for Zimbabwe against Hugo Broos’ side may spell doom for Bafana Bafana while a draw is enough for them to go to the next round.
“I believe there isn’t much pressure for us,” said Mbatha on SABC.
“As a team, we have a quality to go and get the three points in that game. For us, we have to focus and look at the game plan that the coach gives us.”
Mbatha said Bafana just need to up the ante in their self-belief.
“For us, I think it’s a matter of being able to be confident and believe in our abilities,” he added.
“We do have the quality, so for us it’s something that has been really not that much in the past two games.
“We have to be much sharper and wiser and focus on the game.”
