Hugo Broos on Bathusi Aubaas: He is showing great improvement and he can be our best player going into the last-16 after Sithole's below par display
Bathusi Aubaas must be smiling from one ear to another.
The Mamelodi Sundowns must be pleased to read or heard how glowing Hugo Broos speaks about his display against Zimbabwe in the final Africa Cup of Nations Group B match.
Aubass was a second half substitute in place of Sphephelo Sithole. Sithole’s below par display left Broos dissatisfied with the midfielder as Aubaas replaced him.
It seemed as though the former TS Galaxy player has charmed Broos with his performance against the Warriors.
Bafana won the game 3-2 against their Southern African neighbours in a pulsating match played at Stade de Marrakesh to seal their place in the last-16.
“Bathusi did very well when he came in. We had more pace on the ball, and his passing was good,” Broos said of Aubaas after the win over Zimbabwe.
“Yaya lost the ball a little too easily and I think he took the wrong decisions.
"We can use Bathusi in the knockouts after his performance today."
