Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena: We must raise our game if we really need to make an impressing beyond the Afcon last-16 round
Teboho Mokoena admitted Bafana Bafana needed to improve their displays ahead of the last-16 clash after making it through this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Bafana managed to make it to the next round after beating Zimbabwe 3-2 yesterday in Marrakesh as they finished second below Egypt in Group B.
Tshepang Moremi, Lyle Foster and Oswin Appollis scored the goals for Bafana to earn the victory.
Mamelodi Sundowns midfield man Mokoena is not at all pleased but happy they are through.
"We are happy as a team to go to the next round, but I think the real tournament starts now so we definitely have to improve. We have conceded so many goals already and we must improve that," he said after the game.
"We got nervous when they scored the second one, and then we scored, and then they were committing numbers up front and I think we were panicking a little bit, and we should've been calmer on the ball because when we're in control we play so much better."
