Stellenbosch FC interested in Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa as the player continues to struggle for game time at the Soweto club

Tshegofatso Mabasa may be joining Stellenbosch FC in this transfer window.

It has been established that the out of favour Orlando Pirates striker is being monitored by the Stellies.

Mabasa has been a bit part player for Pirates this season despite his well known predatory instincts in the box.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic forward reached 50 goals for the Sea Robbers this season but he continued to be sidelined by the Soweto side.

Now that his deal with Pirates expires in June, he is allowed to sign a pre-contract with a team of his choice.

But seemingly, Stellies are looking to add him only on loan basis.

Kazier Chiefs were also said to be among the sides interested in bringing the left-footed striker to Naturena but that has not come to fruition.
