South Africa's Thapelo Maseko delighted with his goal against South Korea and admits 'It feels like a dream'
Thapelo Maseko has credited Bafana Bafana's victory to the whole team as he felt the entire squad contributed to the victory over South Korea as he netted the winner.
Maseko said the 2-0 loss to Mexico in the first match saw a lot of negative missiles thrown at them from various directions.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns man, who was named Man of the Match at Estadio Monterrey earlier this morning, said the team did well to come out of the storm.
“It’s unbelievable, it seems like a dream. But credit to all the gents, credit to everyone today, to the fans they gave it all,” Maseko told SuperSport TV.
“This win is for those who supported us and for those actually who didn’t support us too. Because they said we 7% chance of getting out of the group and yet here we are.
“So we thankful to everyone, the support back home from South Africans and we keep going.
“We’ve through a couple of rough patches.
“From the first game, the media was bashing us, we were all over the media. The memes were trending but this team showed that they are capable and strong, and they’ve got some mentality in them.”
Sunday Bafana face Canada in the last-32 match at 9pm South African time.
