South African coach Hugo Broos hits back at critics 'They do not know what I am doing'

Lack of understanding what Hugo Broos was doing with South Africa created a lot of critics for the Belgian coach.

Broos revealed the heavy criticism directed at him and his tactics was unwarranted as armchair analysts did not fully comprehend what his idea was for Bafana Bafana.

Now that they beat South Korea, 1-0 earlier this morning, to advance to the World Cup last-32 round where they will face Canada, Broos said his work is beginning to bear fruit.

“There was a lot of criticism about not understanding what I was doing,” said Broos after the game at Estadio Monterrey.

“Until the moment we started having results. I always had belief in this group, even the last few weeks, when the critics were very, very hard. But I never doubted them.

“This group already gave me so much that I was nearly sure we’d get a good result today.”

The game against Canada takes place this Sunday at 9pm South African time.
