Shandre Campbell's brace in Belgium should augur well for him ahead of Bafana Bafana Africa Cup of Nations camp
Shandre Campbell will arrive in the Bafana Bafana camp with his confidence knowing no bounds.
The South African youngster scored a brace for his side in Belgium over the weekend ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
A week ago today, Campbell was named in the 25-man squad to Morocco for Bafana’s Afcon tournament.
Campbell plays for both Belgium’s Club Brugge and their feeder team Club NXT.
When he arrived in the European two seasons ago, he played for Club NXT before his promotion to Club Brugge senior side.
Having gone 14 games without a win, Club NXT managed to secure the much needed win with a 3-1 over K. Beerschot.
And Campbell scored a brace in that game ahead of the Bafana camp this week. It is as though he was celebrating his call-up with the brace.
This will be pleasing to Bafana coach Hugo Broos who called him Campbell alongside Tylon Smith as the two youngsters in the squad.
The 35th edition of the spectacle starts on 21 December until 18 January in Morocco.
